Spring is the best time to camp on Cumberland Island, but the mild winter in Southeast Georgia means that the campers do not always want to wait until spring to enjoy Cumberland Island. Camping on Cumberland Island is a wonderful experience, with the beach nearby and the live oaks overhead.
Walter & Kirsten chose to spend one night with us at Spencer House so that they could get a good night’s rest before catching the ferry to Cumberland. After spending 3 nights camping on Cumberland, they came home to a nice hot shower & comfortable bed.
Spencer House is just 2 blocks from the Cumberland Island Ferry, and we serve an early breakfast for those catching the 9am ferry.
